Gabourey Sidibe – Lost 150 Pounds in 2016

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2009 about her Oscar-nominated role in “Precious,” Gabourey Sidibe described why she’s proud to be a plus-size woman. But by 2016, she revealed a secret in her memoir, “This Is Just My Face.” The “Empire” star underwent a laparoscopic bariatric surgery to lose weight after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, as PEOPLE revealed in an excerpt of her book. She then dropped 150 pounds!

According to Style Craze, Sidibe also started doing low-impact exercises, like slow walking, putting minimal pressure on her joints. In June 2017, she posted an impressive picture of her doing aerial yoga.
