This photo, taken in Grantham, definitely stands out from the previous 19 pictures. The reason is that here, the photographer, Nixon, isn’t present. It’s unclear where he was and why he let down the tradition, but he probably couldn’t manage to turn up this particular time, and the sisters took the annual picture themselves.

Later he said in an interview that during this creative idea, the sisters voted for their favorite photo, and they chose the one for a certain year in that way. This could mean that they didn’t gather only once a year and took more than one photo each year. However, we have only one image a year in this collection.
