40 Portraits, 4 Girls and 40 Years – The Brown Sisters’ Heartwarming Transformation Over Four Decades Captured in Pictures
The End Of The Four-Decade Project, 2017

Although Nixon initially planned to stop taking pictures in 2015, he continued capturing the Brown sisters even after the 40th shot. Now it’s time to skip to the 2017 photo taken in Truro, Massachusetts again. Here, they have precisely the same confident faces as back in 1975. We can undoubtedly say that nothing can stop them from getting together for a new photo.
When this picture was taken, Mimi, Laurie, Heather, and Bebe were 56, 64, 66, and 68. Today, each of them and the photographer, Nixon, are alive, still going strong, and keeping up with the project. In 2021, they have 46 photos in the collection, and people can see Nixon’s work exhibited in various galleries.
