Studio 54 Attracting Stars James Brown, John Belushi & Keith Richards
Studio 54 became an iconic place for celebrities from all different areas of the industry to let their hair down. It was originally opened in 1927 under the name Gallo Opera House, but after undergoing a few changes, became the club that older generations of celebs kicked back in. Due to an issue with taxes (evasion), founders Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager were convicted and had to sell the infamous club. Pictured above is James Brown, a singer known as “the Godfather of Soul”, with hits such as It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World to his name; Keith Richards, who we all know from The Rolling Stones; and, Saturday Night Live actor John Belushi.
