The Pretenders in 1978- Pete Farndon, Chrissie Hynde, James Honeyman-Scott & Martin Chambers
The Pretenders were formed in 1978 in a place in England called Hereford. There have been a few changes of members over the years after two of the original ones died due to drug-related illnesses. Those ‘originals’ include Chrissie Hynde – the sole remaining member from the very beginning; Pete Farndon who did backup vocals and played the bass; James Honeyman-Scott who played the lead guitar and tragically died at just 25 years old; and of course, Martin Chambers on the drums. He’s still alive and well although unlike Hynde, he’s not a part of the band anymore. We imagine his personal finance is still healthy though!
