Standing side by side, Robert and the man watched as the bizarre shapes continued to drift in the shallows. No one could make sense of them, nor could anyone say if they were dangerous, but the strange spectacle was impossible to ignore.
One by one, others joined, all equally mesmerized. An older woman, her face marked by years of sun, gestured at the objects while a man with a camera encouraged the group to move closer for a better view. Wary but intrigued, they exchanged glances, all of them silently asking the same question: what was really happening in the water, and could they afford to find out?
