Many of you might have heard about famous actors or singers from back then who have served in the military, but it seems like athletes from different sports have also proudly served some time in the US troops. They exercise a lot for their careers anyway, so being fit enough for military service was not a problem.
Many of these athletes placed their careers on hold so that they can be of service. This just shows you how far they are willing to go for their country. Pat Tillman, Died At Age 27 – Net Worth Undisclosed

Pat Tillman is best remembered for his time as an NFL player, having played for the Arizona Cardinals. He went into retirement just after three years, as he decided that he wanted to join the United States Army. The tragic 9/11 attack was what persuaded him to enlist in June 2002.
Tillman served in Iraq and Afghanistan, being part of the Army Rangers. In 2004, he tragically lost his life after being fatally shot. Amazingly, he died due to friendly fire, not by an enemy’s hand. He was only 27 years old during his passing and was later promoted to corporal posthumously.
