Jack Lummus, Died At Age 29 – Net Worth Undisclosed

Jack Lummus is yet another former athlete who passed away when he went to war. He started out as a star athlete at Baylor University then eventually got drafted by the New York Giants. In 1942, he decided to serve in the United States Marine Corps.

He fought during the Second World War’s Battle of Iwo Jima. He was seriously wounded in battle and, despite being rushed to a hospital, he passed away due to severe internal wounds. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, and the Giants included him in the New York Giants Ring of Honor in 2015.
