After 137 Years, DNA May Have Finally Revealed Jack the Ripper

Letters From Hell or a Publicity Stunt

Several letters signed by “Jack the Ripper” were sent to police and newspapers, raising panic and fascination. The most infamous, called the “From Hell” letter, came with part of a preserved kidney, said to belong to one of the victims. It cemented the case as something straight out of a horror story.

Even so, many experts believe the letters were likely hoaxes or media stunts. Without clear proof, they sit in a creepy gray zone between genuine threat and gruesome prank.
