Working from home has its own set of difficulties in the modern workplace, especially for news reporters. Jessica Lang of Suncoast News Network learned this the hard way in 2020 when she reported from her parents’ kitchen without first informing her father that filming was happening.
She tried to maintain social distance as she reported on the pandemic from the kitchen, with her mom being her videographer. Casually pulling on his shirt, her father strolled into the room, which she only knew from her mom’s expression. Luckily, it wasn’t a live broadcast, but she did post the photo online for her followers to see.
