Vintage Atari Cartridges – Estimated Value $107K
Atari was a home video game console that was released in 1977 and until 1992 it was the most wanted game. For some years, there was a legend that unsold video game cartridges were buried in New Mexico. In 2014, an excavation in the area confirmed the myth of the Atari video game mass burial and revealed discarded games and hardware – some of which were sold for a grand total of $107K (though we don’t have information as to whose bank account benefitted!). Some of the cartridges were also donated to museums while others are still kept in an archive, awaiting their fate.
