For several reasons, some more obvious than the other, you can’t take snow globes through the security system checkpoints at the airports. The primary reason is obviously that the officers have no way of determining the contents or the volume of the liquid inside a snow globe.
This is very important to know if you are on a trip and decide to pick up a souvenir or two as you will leave them at the checkpoint. The authorities suggest that, if you do want a relic like that from your travel, you either ship it to your home address or put it in your checked luggage. Of course, the best option would be to shop for a snow globe at the airport’s post-security shop, if there is one.
