Back in the 1970s, Elvis Presley and boxing superstar Muhammad Ali became friends and there were good reasons for it: both were celebrated by the people and were amongst the most famous men in the US at the time. There are not enough references to claim just how close the two ended up to be, but history will forever remember the robe Elvis offered Ali back in 1973.
Muhammad Ali used the bejeweled, $3K robe to enter the ring in a fight against Ken Norton, that he, unfortunately, had lost. For that reason, he never used the robe again, considering it bad luck. Who would’ve thought that Ali would be superstitious about clothes?!
