The High School Years
Elvis Presley graduated from Humes High School in Memphis back in 1953, just three years before releasing his very first single. Elvis’ childhood was hard; his folks were poor and the King worked in several jobs to help to pay the bills. But it was in Humes High School that Elvis first performed live. He sang and played the guitar in the annual talent show, that he ended up winning.
In this rare photograph, Elvis Presley sits in the back of the Biology class, and you can already recognize the cool personality and style of the young kid who would one day become the King of Rock and Roll.
