Faith Hill belted out her hit There You’ll Be for the TV broadcast of the 2002 Academy Awards. The song featured on the 2001 film Pearl Harbor, and it was up for nomination as the Best Original Song used to score a movie.
Her red carpet outfit was rather lackluster despite being as colorful as they come. It looked more like something you would wear to the prom but not exactly an Oscar-worthy choice. Interestingly, she had performed a rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow at the 72nd Academy Awards held that same year. The song might have lingered on and inspired the outfit.
