This Girl Followed a Puppy Into an Alley—Then Disappeared From Maps
Back Through the Ivy
Lila tried to leave the room, but every hallway twisted back to the start like the place was folding itself over. She sat down by the mirror and whispered, “I want to go home.” The mirror shimmered. Fog curled through the walls like smoke under a door, and the ivy began to hiss.
One vine uncurled from the corner, slithering across the floor. It led her to a crack in the wall—behind it was a narrow tunnel just big enough to crawl through. Lila’s arms and knees scraped stone as she hurried through. But when she reached the other side, the alley was there. And the door was closed.
