Lily Tomlin’s career in entertainment began over five decades ago when she was making money by performing in off-Broadway productions and stand-up comedy shows. Through the next half century, Lily became famous for multiple roles. First, in a movie called Nashville in 1974, which got her nominated for an Oscar, and then in a movie titled The Late Show. However, the role that became Lily’s signature performance came with The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe in 1985, which won her a Tony Award. It was a stage show that was adapted to the big screen in 1991, again starring Lily Tomlin.
