After acting opposite each other on The Long, Hot Summer and becoming better acquainted during the film, love was in the air for Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. They got married shortly after, in January of 1958. Despite romances in Hollywood not lasting very long, their love story lasted for the rest of Newman’s life. They had three daughters, Elinor, Melissa, and Claire and together, they developed a camp for kids with cancer and their families. Newman died in September 2009, after celebrating 50 years of marriage in January of that year.
