Fantasy Island was a TV show that ran from 1977 to 1984. It starred Ricardo Montalbán as Mr. Rourke, a mysterious man who would grant fantasies to those who happen to visit the island. His sidekick is Tattoo, played by Hervé Villechaize. Hervé had a memorable part and would run over to the bell tower when new guests arrive. Prior to the 1983-1984 season, Villechaize was dismissed by the producers and he was replaced. His replacement didn’t climb a bell tower; instead, he simply pressed a button. The show was financially viable though and was even revived in 1999, allowing Fantasy Island to secure further earnings.
