Everyone has probably heard of or watched The Exorcist. It didn’t take long for it to earn the title of being one of the best horror movies the world had (or perhaps has) ever seen. It was released in 1973 and was made with a budget roughly estimated at $12 million. It proved a commercial success though, reportedly earning $441.3 million at the box office! We bet that the producers and distributor Warner Bros. did not even consider how profitable their business plan for the film would turn out to be.
