Brother and sister duo Richard and Karen Carpenter formed their own little musical ensemble. The two of them comprised The Carpenters – aptly named after themselves. They first performed in 1965 and by 1969 were signed to A&M Records. They saw incredible success and wealth, with Richard being worth an estimated $10 million. The happy tale didn’t end well for Karen though.
