Joe DiMaggio, Died At Age 84 – $50 Million

Joe DiMaggio had a fruitful career with the New York Yankees. He was given nicknames like The Yankee Clipper and Joltin Joe. In the ’40s, he took a break from his baseball career and joined the United States Army Air Forces. He eventually got promoted to sergeant.
Some serious health issues caused him to get medically discharged in 1945. He went back to the Yankees in 1946 and played with them until 1951. He passed away in the late ’90s after losing his battle with lung cancer. Years of heavy smoking is believed to have been the root of his illness.
