Rare Pictures of Elvis Presley That Show The Rare Human Behind The Legend

Elvis Loved Karate

Elvis Presley was an all-American symbol, but that didn’t prevent him from falling in love with the Japanese art of Karate. He discovered Karate while stationed in Germany, in 1958, and it did not take long until Elvis was completely immersed in the martial arts. His first sensei (or Karate coach) was Juergen Seydel but the King would obviously go for the best, and he later had his martial arts class, so to speak, training with Tetsuji Murakami, one of Japan’s top teachers.

In this picture, we find a red-belted Elvis Presley showcasing his Karate skills in 1976, just one year before his death.
