Elvis’ First Car
Nobody knows if you can still find Elvis Presley’s famous first car: a 1942 white Lincoln Zephyr Coupe. Collectors have certainly been looking for it all over, as it would now represent an invaluable object of American pop culture. Elvis’ first car was given to him by his mom and dad, on his 18th birthday, and would later be replaced by an RCA-paid brand-new convertible and, ultimately, by a whole fleet of cars.
In this picture, Elvis appears visibly excited while he poses with his first car outside his parents’ home at 462 Alabama Avenue in Memphis.
