Phil Rizzutto became a player of the New York Yankees back in the early ’40s, and he enjoyed thirteen amazing seasons with them. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy. He was still able to showcase his baseball skills because he was part of the Navy’s baseball team.
His Yankees comeback happened in 1946, and he won seven World Series championships with them over the years. His health was already declining when he was in his 80s, and sources say he stayed in a nursing home already. His life came to an end in 2007 at the age of 89.
